Dear Friends of Prospect Theater Project
Theater is one of the oldest art forms known to humankind. Like dance and music, theater is storytelling that thrives on the connection between artist and audience in a shared space. When we gather to participate in a theatrical event, we become part of an ancient communion that is vital. It is essential to the human experience.
But, because of the dangers currently inherent in public gathers, we will not be seeing you at the theater in the immediate future. After lengthy discussion and reflection, to help ensure the well-being of the community we love and serve, Prospect Theater Project will remain closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 season.
All events and performances scheduled at the theater from now through the end of August 2020 will be canceled. Your health and the health of our theater and its artists are a top priority, and this extended closure reflects that priority.
2020-2021 marks Prospect’s 20th season of delivering innovative, insightful theater in an intimate space. What better way to celebrate 20 years than a joyful reunion with you—our extended family and friends who have made this milestone possible.
Many of you may be asking, ‘now what?”
First, keep your eyes on your inbox. We’ll be following-up soon with some information for season subscribers and ticket holders.
Second, stay tuned to our social media pages for fun, engaging content that celebrates the artists and the work of our previous 19 years. Photos, videos, informal audience polls—if you miss your PTP community, join us on those pages for some virtual interaction.
We’ll see you at the theater.
